| お待たせしました。ルセのチェンバロ最新盤登場。 アルマン=ルイ・クープランの「クラヴサン曲集」全曲! 近年指揮活動でも高い評価を受けるルセですが、やはりチェンバロ演奏を聴きたいという声も多いなか、待望の最新リリースが登場となります。それもアルマン=ルイ・クープランの2枚組作品集というルセのCD初レパートリー。 アルマン=ルイ・クープラン(1727-1789)はクープラン一族の出で、大クープランことフランソワの従弟の子にあたります。時代的にはC.P.E.バッハなどと同世代で、チェンバロの伝統がピアノにとってかわられる最後の大物作曲家のひとりでした。彼は宗教作品やオペラを書かず、チェンバロ曲とオルガン曲に専念しましたが、フランソワ・クープランを崇拝して様式を継承したため時代錯誤と批判もされました。しかし楽器の改良で音域も広がり、大クープランからの進化は明瞭に感じられます。 当ディスクには1751年の代表作「クラヴサン曲」全25曲が収められています。アルマンド、ガヴォット、メヌエットなどの古典舞曲のほか、イタリア人、イギリス人、ドイツ人、フランス人を描いた「四つの国民」など興味深い作品が続きます。ルセの演奏で聴くと、いずれもたいへんな名作に思えます。 ルセはパリの音楽博物館が所蔵するジャン=クロード・グジョン/ヨアヒム・シュヴァネン作(1749/1784)の国宝的名器を用いて録音に臨みました。繊細かつギャラントな響き、ルセならではの指さばきと洗練された表現で、極上のひとときを味わせてくれます。 キングインターナショナル |

| Armand-Louis Couperin was a much younger cousin of Francois Couperin, born in 1727. By the time these harpsichord pieces were published around 1750, new musical currents were in the air, even in France, and Armand-Louis had the bad fortune to be one of the first composers killed in a traffic crash. He was all but forgotten for 200 years, but he has received attention lately from various harpsichordists. None has had quite the charisma of the great Christophe Rousset, whose attentions here may well propel this music back into the harpsichord repertory. Couperins pieces have the same kind of descriptive titles familiar from the several preceding generations of French harpsichord music, but to portray him as a conservative hopelessly out of touch with trends in the middle 18th century is inaccurate. Listen to the second movement of the suite Les Quatres Nations, titled LAngloise, with its Alberti bass. There are many other broken-chord figurations uncharacteristic of the High Baroque French style or even of Rameau, and some pieces here might be taken for Domenico Scarlatti. Others might be called fusions of Scarlatti and Francois Couperin. This is an exciting prospect, and it is this fusion, this balance of elements, that is the genius of Roussets playing. He loses neither the melodic element nor the brilliant ornamentation, and the result is compelling music that will be new to many listeners. One cant ask for much more than that. |
