| This Collectors' Choice two-fer combines two of '60s folk-pop icons the Sandpipers' lesser-known albums, Misty Roses and The Wonder of You. While the Sandpipers had a few hits early on in their career, including their 1966 cover of "Guantamera," they had trouble charting after their first two albums. However, this doesn't mean that the music was any less appealing, and fans of the soft and mellow vocal group's charming, romantic, laid-back, and immediately recognizable sound should find much to enjoy here. Included are such cuts as the group's Latin take on various standards like "Fly Me to the Moon" as well as covers of such classic pop tunes as the Beatles' "And I Love Her." ~ Matt Collar |
