| "Memory Lane" kicked off the cycle for Old Dominions fifth album in a familiar fashion: its cheerful with the faintest hint of a bittersweet undercurrent that expertly dodges any semblance of melancholy. The accompanying Memory Lane EP occupies a similar territory, offering eight songs -- by Old Dominion standards, thats two-thirds of an album, as they rarely go over 12 songs -- that are bright, tuneful, and relaxed, occupying the place where country meets adult contemporary. If the group and producer Shane McAnally dont display any new tricks here, they nevertheless continue to do what they do exceptionally well.
