| Coming on the heels of a 2016 recording with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and his subsequent appointment as chief conductor of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Vladimir Jurowski offers a new live recording of one of the most virtuosic pieces in the symphonic repertoire, Richard Strauss Eine Alpensinfonie, Op. 64. Strauss monumental, through-played final tone poem is scored for more than 125 musicians, with diverse needs such as a wind machine, a Heckelphone, and off-stage brass. Programmatic movement titles depict a day spent traversing an alpine mountain, beginning at dawn and concluding at dusk, as Strauss contemplates the relationship of humans to nature. Compared to the recording with the London Philharmonic, Jurowski takes a slightly more deliberate turn with Auf dem Gipfel (On the Summit), fully emphasizing the drama of gazing down upon the conquered ascent, and it is stunning. The Gewitter und Sturm, Absteig (Thunder and Tempest, Descent) movement harkens back to when, as a youth, Strauss was caught in a storm when descending the Heimgarten mountain. This movement is the densest orchestration in the work, and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester delivers a rousing thunderstorm before the journey continues and calm descends once more with the coming sunset. Jurowskis familiarity with the work and growing rapport with the Berlin orchestra show through in this recording, and one looks forward to the future of this partnership as Jurowskis contract has been extended through 2027. PentaTone puts the listener square in the middle of the Konzerthaus Berlin, allowing these beautiful, lush textures to wash over the listener. |

| 完全限定プレス! ベルリン放送交響楽団、創設100周年記念。 ユロフスキが振った「アルプス交響曲」をアナログ盤でリリース! 1923年、ベルリン中央放送局によって設立され、ドイツ最古の放送交響楽団という歴史をもつベルリン放送交響楽団が、今年(2023年)100周年を迎えました!それを記念し、ウラディーミル・ユロフスキ指揮のR.シュトラウスの「アルプス交響曲」のLPをリリースします。当演奏はSACDハイブリッド盤(KKC-6399/PTC-5186802)でリリースされており、レコード芸術誌「特選盤」などで絶賛されている名盤です。 R.シュトラウスが書いた管弦楽のための大曲「アルプス交響曲」は、アルプス登山のいろいろな場面を映画のように写実的に描いた作品で、自然描写の大家といわれたR.シュトラウスの傑作にかぞえられます。ユロフスキは2016年4月にロンドン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団と同曲をライヴ収録(LPO-0106)しておりますが、当演奏は2019年2月、ベルリン放送交響楽団とのライヴ収録です。管楽器が活躍する場面での巧みなバランス感覚はユロフスキならではといえ、同団の腕の確かさと相性のよさを実感できる白熱の演奏を聴くことができます。完全限定プレスのLPとなりますのでお見逃しなく! 祖父が作曲家、父親が指揮者という音楽一家に1972年モスクワで生まれたユロフスキは、1990年18歳のときに家族とともにドイツに移住。ドレスデンおよびベルリンで研鑽をつみ、95年ウェクスフォード音楽祭におけるリムスキー=コルサコフの「5月の夜」の演奏で世界的に注目されました。翌年にはレコーディングを開始し、2007年より首席指揮者に就任したロンドン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団をはじめ、ロシア・ナショナル管弦楽団と自国ロシアの作品を数多く録音をのこしております。また、2017/18シーズンからはベルリン放送交響楽団の首席指揮者兼芸術監督にも就任しており、PENTATONEレーベルよりマーラーの「大地の歌」(PTC-5186760)、R.シュトラウスの交響詩「ツァラトゥストラはかく語りき」、マーラーの交響詩「葬礼」、交響的前奏曲(KKC-5846 / PTC-5186597)、シュニトケの交響曲第3番(PTC-5186485)、アラベラ・美歩・シュタインバッハーを独奏に迎えたブリテン&ヒンデミットのヴァイオリン協奏曲集(KKC-5839 / PTC-5186625)をリリースしております。 キングインターナショナル |
