| Having emerged as a solo artist out of Tomorrow X Together with his frenetic 2024 single "Ggum," Yeonjun further stakes his claim as one of the more individualistic K-pop voices with his 2025 EP No Labels: Part 01. Here, he builds out his ear-popping aesthetic, bringing together a mix of styles from clubby, artful vibes. Kicking things off is "Talk to You," a rhythmically kinetic anthem that smartly evokes the mid-90s experimentalism of artists like U2 and Beck. We also get the trap-ish synth-core hooks of "Forever," midtempo hip-hop swagger of "Nothin Bout Me," and the falsetto-steeped R&B romanticism of "Let Me Tell You," the latter a duet with Katseyes Daniela. All of No Labels: Part 01 hangs together nicely, showcasing Yeonjuns charismatic croon and deft knack for making his varied stylistic influences all his own. ~ Matt Collar |
