商品の紹介
| Longtime DJ, radio host, producer, and singer Eliza Rose blew up in 2022, when her empowering garage anthem "B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All)" (with Interplanetary Criminal) went viral and topped the U.K. dance and pop charts. Shes since released singles with Calvin Harris, the Martinez Brothers, MJ Cole, Confidence Man, and others, and has remained a festival mainstay. Her mix for the Fabriclive series seamlessly mixes Y2K-era UKG/2-step throwbacks with newer tracks in that vein, often unreleased dubplates and exclusives. Zed Bias 1999 underground classic "Been Here Before" opens the set, and its vocal samples continue to reappear throughout the next few tracks, along with the sensual whispers of A for Alphas "Touch Me." The bass pours down onto the echoing chords of Cadences "Pickmeup," as the party gets a bit rowdier. Donna Dees cheeky 1998 gem "Here We Go, Blah!" injects some playfulness inspired by the spirit of old-school hip-hop. Rose teams up with rapper CASISDEAD on the smooth yet hedonistic pill-popper "Pingers." Champagne Bubblers "Got 2 Work," another sought-after 90s deep cut, stands out with its sharp pianos and swerving bass -- its tempting to say that the older selections in this mix have a bit more of a kick to them than the newer ones. La Las "Anything Is Everything" is an unexpectedly philosophical bit of reassurance, before the mix moves into two of its most gleeful tunes, Paperkrafts "Funky Bluh Bluh" (also featured on Fabric Presents DJ Tennis earlier in the year) and Dimmishs rave flashback "Yoshi." For the final tune of the mix, Rose switches it up with her own "Morning Light," a wistful drumnbass roller co-produced by DJ Marky and Makoto. ~ Paul Simpson |
